I just finished watching "TV Junkie" Watching that made me go back into time where my parents also had an addiction to crack. Growing up as a teen my parents got hooked on crack and it destroyed them. I remember that sometimes we didn't have money for food so my dad would go down to the food bank and get some food for the family. My parents would fight and argue about money and a place to live. My dad would often get up in my mothers' face and scream and me being a mommas' boy I would fight my dad. My family went through a really tough time they would pawn different items to feed their addiction. Back in 2004 my family decided to go their own ways. Therefore, I moved down here to TN, my family moved to other states as well. After two years though I am proud to say that my family has overcome addiction to crack cocaine and we all have very nice lives now. Your documentary has made me think about what my family has overcome. I've never smoked crack in my life and I will never do it. I want you to know that I really respect you Mr. Kirkham, it takes so much willpower for people to overcome their drug problem. Your documentary is heartfelt and to be completely honest there were times in the film thatmade me shed tears. We need more people in this world like you that can make a difference. So, in conclusion keep talking to the kids of today about drugs because, I think you can teach people what can be lost from making bad decisions... May god be with you and your family....
Sincerely,
Jason |
